If you hold two 6's on your hand and the board's number is ace-ace-7-4 and that the card on your river is 7, then you've had your hand "counterfeited." You were holding two pairs, and now the board has two more pairs. Any other player who has an upper card than 6 surpasses your hand.

CUT-OFF 

The position is to the left of the button.

DEALER BUTTON 

The button (often an e-disc during live play) indicates the dealer. It is flipped clockwise following each hand.

DRAW 

On one hand, you're left with hopes of making it better. For instance, you don't have any concrete information to draw, but you need at least one card to get straights or flushes. If you initiate (or raise) a bet to determine if the required card(s) are available when you're being described as "drawing." 

The two most popular drawings are flush (drawing to flush) and straight draws (drawing for straight). It is also possible to draw for the three of a kind, full house, or higher.

FLOP 

The first three community cards are dealt out after the first betting round is complete.

FLUSH

A poker hand is made up of five cards of the same suit.

FOLD 

You can give up by putting your cards face-down on the table and losing all the money you've placed bets on in the past. You should only fold if you feel your hand is not strong enough to compete with other players.

NUTS 

The best hand is one could have at any time. For instance, if you are holding pocket 7's when the turn is 7-6-2, you're "nuts" at this point, considering that trip 7's will be the most desirable hand.
